City of Wolverhampton College
Our Education Team has provided cost consultancy services for the third and final phase of a large scale campus redevelopment programme for the City of Wolverhampton College.
The project has been funded in part by the Learning Skills Council plus the Football Foundation and as Cost Consultants we produced cost data for the Agreement in Principle in conjunction with the Project Manager.
The Design & Build scheme sits on a brownfield site which incorporates old coal mine workings. Our Cost Managers have provided advice so that the Client is aware of this in terms of additional time and cost implications, and have managed the associated risk.
Department Heads have been involved in detailed discussions to determine exact requirements, produce a robust brief and to ensure that current and future curriculum considerations are achieved. Provisions have also been made for future growth in student intake.
The scheme achieves the environmental aspirations of the College by including a number of environmentally sustainable design features, including rainwater harvesting and ground coupled heating and cooling as well as effective re-use of a brownfield site.
A risk management log has been maintained within the scheme from the outset which has allowed careful management of Risk Funding through the course of the scheme.
