Delighted to be reappointed as Employers’ Agent and Cost Consultants for the second phase of Atlas Hotels’ £14 million Holiday Inn Express refurbishment programme.
The re-appointment follows the successful completion of nearly 1,600 bedroom ‘soft’ refurbishments across 14 of the hotel owner/operator’s premises during 2015. The next phase of works will include a further 1,038 ‘soft’ refurbishments over 10 sites, as well as the completion of 1,162 ‘full’ bedroom fit outs across an additional 8 hotels.
In what is termed a soft refurbishment programme, Edmond Shipway will assist in the procurement of the main contractor for undertaking the associated re-decoration and electrical works and the new FF&E comprising carpets, curtains, sofa beds, wall art and miscellaneous loose items which deliver the latest Holiday Inn Express guestroom contemporary look and feel. On the full refurbishment projects, in addition to the works undertaken on a ‘soft’ refurbishment project the guestroom casegoods are also replaced and the bathroom refreshed with new vanity unit, floor tiling and glazed shower doors.
Commenting on the appointment, James Richards, our Project Director, said; “I am delighted that our work on the first phase of this major refurbishment has been recognised by the team at Atlas with our reappointment this year. We have built a fantastic relationship with the company and as a result have an excellent understanding of their requirements allowing us to improve efficiency and maximise value for money”.
Jon Armstrong, Property and Development Manager at Atlas Hotels, added; “Having worked with Edmond Shipway for many years, we have every confidence that their experienced hotels team will deliver this programme to the same high standard that we’ve seen on previous projects. I have no doubt that we will continue to work together going forward.”
