McCarthy Stone Retirement Living – Refurbishment and Maintenance

Working on circa 150 developments within its estate, Edmond Shipway led the planned refurbishment works for the UK’s leading developer and management of retirement communities, McCarthy Stone, adhering to the Section 20 process for retirement living.

The refurbishments included upgrades to communal areas as well as guest suites, restaurants and living areas – the most extensive example of this was a full refurbishment carried out in Centenary Place, Southend. External maintenance and redecoration of building envelopes also formed a key part of this programme delivery.

Flexing its M&E expertise, alongside its Contract Administrator service, Edmond Shipway also assisted with the upgrading of warden call systems and fire head replacements in line with the Government’s 2027 digitalisation target.

This is an ongoing and trusted partnership, meeting the needs of the McCarthy Stone’s estate annually.
