We are pleased to confirm the opening of the first £570,000 convenience store in Longford, Stoke on Trent. Children from a local primary school were invited to be the guests of honour at the opening.
Edmond Shipway are currently appointed as Quantity Surveyor, CDM Co-ordinator and Employers Agent on this £33 million development project for NewRiver Retail.
The scheme comprises the provision of a total of 63 convenience store shells, all of which have already been leased by the Co-operative Group for a period of 15 years. The programme will go some way to achieving the Group’s aim of maintaining its position as the UK’s leading convenience retailer by opening around 100 new stores each year.
Once complete, the new units will provide an average of 3500m2 per site and will be a mixture of new builds and conversions, all individually designed to fit in with the local environment. The properties will be located across the country with a concentration in central, eastern and northern England. Works are taking place in a phased programme over the next two years.
