Favourite Project
HSBC Air Conditioning Surveys - a role out programme of over 1100 branches across the UK undertaken in 2010. We were delighted to win this contract, and subsequently set in place quality procedures to manage six specialist engineers visiting a huge number of branches over an eight month period.
My second most interesting project has been the Geo-Spatial Building for the University of Nottingham. This building is a centre of excellence for university staff and hi-tech businesses in the field of global satellite technology, based around the European GPS technology, GRACE. This Low Carbon Building utilises a dense exposed concrete structure to even out internal temperatures and avoid the need for comfort cooling. We undertook Thermal Modelling techniques for this building to demonstrate how temperatures will fluctuate in the spaces and be comfortable for occupants. This building is currently in the running for three awards in part for our role as Energy Advisors.
Fact about Daman Ranby
I enjoy the thrust of modern business and tackling challenges as they present themselves. Socially I keep myself very busy and enjoy DIY of all scales, but prefer to be travelling and seeing interesting locations. I have been known to tackle the odd mountain or two, including Mount Blanc in the French Alps.
