Giants Causeway Visitor Centre, Northern Ireland

Edmond Shipway was appointed Project Manager and Cost Consultant for the provision of a new build visitors centre facility at the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland.

The Giants Causeway Visitors Centre was to be a landmark project on a World Heritage site on the North Antrim Coast in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. This ambitious project aimed to be a prime example of an ecological and environmental facility.

An ambitious plan was agreed that encompassed a world class building with world class exhibition and interpretative facilities inviting interaction with both the facilities and the Causeway itself – at the same time preserving the natural beauty and contour of the existing ridgeline leading to the world famous Basalt Stones.

As Cost Consultants we were required to drive the scheme within its budget constraints whilst maintaining and delivering this important vision. Our appointment for this high profile commission was due to our extensive experience and ability to deliver complex projects within their budgetary constraints.
