Hagley Road, Birmingham
We were delighted to continue our excellent relationship with Calthorpe Estates, a prolific land owner and developer in Birmingham, with an appointment as Project Manager for a £10.5m office refurbishment at 100 Hagley Road.
The scheme included the removal of the existing top storey which was replaced with two further office floor plates and associated core space providing the building with 50,348 square feet of gross area. In order to achieve a high-end specification, re-cladding of the whole building was carried out to improve energy, performance and appearance.
Like Edmond Shipway, Calthorpe Estates are passionate about the environment and sustainability. 100 Hagley Rd was no exception with the design team working towards achieving another BREEAM Very Good rated office space.
There were a number of key stakeholders we were in close liaison with to ensure the aspirations of each were captured within the brief. These included the local Conservation Officer as the scheme is located within a conservation area, an incumbent tenant and neighbouring residents.
Ongoing stakeholder dialogue during this initial feasibility phase, coupled with our sustainability credentials and extensive knowledge of the office market has ensured the scheme completed within programme and budget.
