Pleased to confirm our appointment as Cost Consultants to the £5 million development of the ‘Archway’ Project in Bath, on behalf of Bath and North East Somerset Council.
This ambitious scheme which has been part-funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund involves the creation of a state-of-the-art Roman Baths Learning Centre above the former city laundry in Swallow Street and a World Heritage Site Visitor Centre in York Street. The comprehensive programme of works will enhance the overall visitor experience and allow people to discover parts of the site that have never before been open to the public.
Plans also include innovative proposals to utilise energy recovered from waste water in the Roman Drain to heat the Centre. Once complete, the project will enable visitors to view more of the site’s remains in-situ, while learning groups of all ages will benefit from the provision of an underground ‘investigation zone’.

Work is due to be completed by early 2019 when the site will re-open to visitors.
